Music at St. Clement's!

The choirs and special music of St. Clement's, under the direction of Organist and Choirmaster Tom Fitches, form an integral part of worship life in the parish.

Always wanted to sing in the choir?
Sang many years ago in school but haven’t done it since? Please consider joining one of St. Clement's choirs. Newcomers welcome.

The Psallam Spiritu Choir

The Psallam Spiritu Choir (Sing with the Spirit) is a treble voice choir for boys and girls aged 7 and up, rehearsing Thursdays at 4:30 p.m. The choir sings at the 9:15 a.m.liturgy on Sundays and special concerts and liturgies throughout the year as announced. Excellent training, with special focus on sight-reading.

The 9:15 Volunteer Choir
A mixed-voice choir of all ages that rehearse occasionally on Saturday mornings at 10:30 a.m. and also sing for the 9:15 a.m. liturgies on Sunday mornings. This choir sometimes joins in learning special repertoire with the Senior Choir.

The Senior Choir
An auditioned mixed-voiced choir who sing a wide range of sacred repertoire from plainsong and 16th c. to music of the 20th and 21st century, rehearsing on Thursday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. The choir sings Sunday liturgies at 11 a.m., special Choral Evensongs at 4:30 p.m. (see below), and at special liturgies, concerts and other events throughout the year.

CHORAL EVENSONG

A choral evensong with full adult choir is held bi-monthly. The choirs participate in these liturgies by offering special music. The remaining choral evensongs planned for 2005 - 2006 will be on November 27th, January 8th, March 26th and May 28th at 4:30 p.m.

From time to time at 4:30 we have other services such as an Advent Carol Service, A Service of Lessons and Carols for Christmas, An Order for Evening Prayer on the Feast of the Presentation, and A Service of Lessons and Carols for St Mary the Virgin, etc.

the year that increase their music
life and fellowship


St. Clement's Parish Orchestra
The Parish Orchestra has been in existence for over 20 years and its members are made up of parishioners and those who come from around the community. They perform at occasional services and concerts. The conductor is Adine Mintz and she would be pleased to hear from musicians wishing to play some challenging music.
