Stewardship » Stewardship 2011 and Beyond

Everything we do at St Clement's depends on stewardship giving. In the broad sense, stewardship is defined as “the careful and responsible management of something entrusted to one's care”. We have been entrusted with a beautiful and architecturally stunning sacred space and fully functional church building. We can be proud that our beloved St Clement's has been renewed and revitalized for the 21st century, ensuring a spiritual home for generations to come.

But St Clement's does not run on its own. The many programs and ministries that we have come to enjoy depend on the time and talents of our clergy, staff and dedicated parishioners. In fact, our ministries will need an increase of 10% in financial support just to ensure that they can continue throughout next year.

We know how much St Clement's means to our parishioners - we heard several speak to that over the last few months before our Sunday liturgies. One thing was consistent throughout: St Clement's is an important part of our lives and we can't imagine it any other way.

'Stewardship 2011 and Beyond' has just kicked off. It is the ongoing and collective support of everyone who believes in our programs, ministries and mission as a leading parish in the 21st century. It provides an opportunity to put your faith into action.

As your representatives, we are in the midst of making plans to cut spending and are looking at additional sources of revenue to help in meeting our budget goals. We ask you to prayerfully consider your responsibility as a parishioner to make a promise of support in the way of a pledge to St Clement's for 2012.

Enclosed is the form on which you can communicate your intentions to our financial secretary, Elisabeth Lunder. Please return your completed form to the church office by November 30th, 2011.

We are grateful for what you have already done and thank you for your continued support.

On behalf of your St Clement's wardens,

Steve Murdoch
