Father Bruno is Seriously Ill. Founder of schools for disadvantaged children in his home country Haiti, and friend of the parish, Fr Jean Monique Bruno has become seriously ill. Since the earthquake in January, Fr Bruno has been working tirelessly to provide help to communities unlikely to be served by larger aid organizations. He was scheduled to be our guest speaker at the March 13 Inter-Mission. St Clement's has given financial support to Fr Bruno's schools for many years. Please remember Fr Bruno, his family and students in your prayers.
Heavenly Strings! As part of our Sundays at Three concert series, the Consortium Aurora Borealis will present "Bravissimo! From Biber to Boccharini," chamber music from the 17th and 18th centuries, on Sunday March 7. Members of the Consortium are violinist Jeremy Bell of the Pendercki String Quartet, along with Toronto cellist Matteusz Swoboda and harpsichordist Elizabeth Ganiatsos. Tickets at the door are $20, and $15 for seniors and students.
Renovations About to Continue. The Building Committee recently announced that the renovations will soon begin again as part of our Transforming Space for Faith. After rave reviews for their excellent work with the worship space, Compass Project Management has been re-engaged to continue the next phase of the project. Work should begin right after Easter.
We're on YouTube! As part of a Grade 9 project, four very creative students from St Clement's School have produced a tribute to our Wednesday Community Lunch program. Over the soundtrack of "You Found Me," by The Fray, are images of people in need, and what St Clement's is doing to help. You can watch the video by clicking here.
Resources for Those in Need. Dent Melling, who is a regular at our Wednesday Community Lunch, spent months researching where people can find free or cheap meals, drop-in centres, clothing banks, medical clinics, help with housing, legal clinics and counselling for addictions. "Fellow Pilgrims" was produced with assistance from a fund created in memory of the late Dan Ferland, a St Clement's parishioner who helped out at the Community Lunch Program.
