Volunteer Opportunities » Volunteer Groups A-LAnglican Church Women This umbrella group provides worship, learning, service and fellowship opportunities for women of the parish. Groups within the ACW are involved in ad hoc projects as well as long term commitments, and meet on a monthly basis. Archivist This position involves giving assistance for research projects and responding to the congregation if materials are requested for use, or offered for storage. The Archivist researches and retrieves documents for ongoing or special church projects (e.g., the courtyard cemetery, property sales, refugees, baptisms, building blueprints and plans, parish surveys, and Vestry Reports). Chancel Guild Members care for the altar coverings, linen and silver, and prepare for all services, ordering wafers, wine, altar candles and flowers. In addition they decorate the church for special services such as Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. Meetings are held five times during the year, and members have regular duty one morning a month, plus unscheduled help as required. Communion Ministers St Clement's Communion Ministers are lay people of the parish who administer the wine chalices during services. Training is provided for this sacred responsibility. Communion Ministers serve twice a month. Garden Club Members plant, prune and weed the flower beds and urns outside the church and in the courtyard cemetery. This work is seasonal, with the most active time being spring and summer. Members do what they can, either attending a couple of planting blitzes, or watering plants on a weekly basis. The big bonus–NO meetings! Intercessors This group takes an active part in the services each Sunday by preparing and presenting the Prayers of the People at the 9am and 11 am services according to a rotating schedule. Lay Anointers Lay Anointers attend a training weekend and are interviewed by the Bishop before being commissioned for this ministry at St Clement’s. They offer healing prayer and anointing for any in need after the 9 am and 11 am services, in the Chapel. Librarian St Clement's Librarian keeps books of interest to St Clement's members up and running and read! New books are being continually added and reviewed in the Parish News.
